You know the drill by now.

I am bored and feeling like wanting to share something about myself, without knowing exactly what. So, please ask me anything in this entry, no matter how personal, philosophical, mundane or private and I shall answer it.

Please ask.

Ganked from [info]attackfish who ganked it from another:

To participate:

1. Leave a comment to this post, specifically saying that you would like a letter.
2. I will give you a letter.
3. Post the names of five fictional characters whose names begin with that letter, and your thoughts on each. The characters can be from books, movies, or TV shows.

I got D.

These answers may contain some spoilers to their canons.

1. Dudley Dursley from Harry Potter. I have this tendency to take those a bit smaller characters, who were mean or somehow unlikeable, and give them in my mind a redemption story. In my mind, (and thanks to a certain fic) Dudley comes to his senses at how horrible he has been to Harry post-series and starts to become a better person. In my fanon he is also a gay whose children are witches and wizards. =DD

2. Dean Winchester from Supernatural. A very very pretty man, and whose history and story arc is so goddamn heart-breaking and horrible, who over and over makes me watch supernatural, even when I have given up already the show. His devotion to his family hits very close to me, how he is the 'good kid', the obedient one, the one who always follows dad's rules...

3. David Karofsky from Glee. Okay, his story arc is pretty much the only one I follow in the Glee anymore. The how he starts as a villain but gets more and more redeeming qualities, how he truly regrets his actions, how he is so afraid, and of course the suicide attempt. That hit so close, even if the reasons between me and him why we tried it are not close at all.

4. Daenerys Targaryen from A Song of Ice and Fire. She starts as a young girl who has lived her whole life under her brother's bullying, and how she grows to a strong and amazing young woman during the series. Her growth is still not finished, and she is one of my favourite characters in the whole series.

5. Doa from Blade of the Immortal. Okay, that deadly spitfire is just way too awesome. SHe had, in the end, only a small part to play, but her run in the manga was memorable and her relationship with Rin was just great. I was sad to see her go, but I understood the necessity.

Reading 120 000 word long fanfic at one go because it was so good that you weren't able to take a break? Not very wise. My eyes...

'The iPod Shuffle Meme

No, not that one. Let's be honest, when we need inspiration, the first place we go is our music library. So let's try something a little bit different. My music library is no help to me, but maybe it can be for someone else. Here's how this thing works:

1) Comment to this post, and I'll give you a prompt in the form of whatever song shuffles up next on whatever music player I've got going at the time.

2) Turn on the music player of your choice to shuffle, post this to your own journal and dole out prompts. No, you can't hide your shameful music. If it shuffles up, that's the gig.

3) Write/draw/whatever way you create for the prompt you've been given: post it. Again, no hiding the shame. Even if you think it's awful, post it.

4) Link your finished product to the prompt comment, because it's always lovely to see the results.'

And I'll definetly link here my prompt answer when it's ready.

I just came from movies. I was watching Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. A good movie, and I recommend it.

But there was a moment that made me think (and also made me maudlin). A character is being told by his superior that he will now be most likely watched, so if he has anything in his life that needs to be cleaned up, he should do it immediatly. He goes to home, meets his boyfriend and in the next scene boyfrined leaves, saying: "You can tell me if you have someone new. I am an adult." After the door closes, the character starts crying.

I know the movie is set in the 70s, but it still hits so close to me. I also watched the movie Malcolm X couple of weeks ago, and even there is a black character who is most likely a mathematic genius, but is a criminal because he wouldn't be given the same chances as a white man.

It's just makes me wonder, why humans spend so much time trying to bring each other down, hide something so great and ultimately unharming in themselves, or just punish people because of their race, religion or sexuality. It just feels so much waste of time and resources, if you want to think practically. And just so fucking tiring.

I personally just sometimes get the feeling that I really don't understand people. WHat is wrong with being gay, black or muslim? Am I missing something? Why I just don't feel to GET IT why people spend so much time hating each other?

I just don't get people. What is wrong with me? WHy would you spend so much time bringing me down? I am gay, woman and overweight, but I don't think it changes what or who I am. Why should I hate or doubt a russian, muslim or a black man/woman? Why should I be rude, mean and bully those who disagree with me, was it small or big thing?

I just wonder sometimes.

((And now before anyone gets any ideas, I am no fucking saint or somehow pure or innocent. Just making sure))

Alkuperäinen tekijä [info]box_in_the_box otsikolla Internet blackout day: See you all on Thursday

Google: End Piracy, Not Liberty

Millions of Americans oppose SOPA and PIPA because these bills would censor the Internet and slow economic growth in the U.S.

Two bills before Congress, known as the Protect IP Act (PIPA) in the Senate and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the House, would censor the Web and impose harmful regulations on American business. Millions of Internet users and entrepreneurs already oppose SOPA and PIPA.

The Senate will begin voting on January 24th. Please let them know how you feel. Sign this petition urging Congress to vote NO on PIPA and SOPA before it is too late.

Tell Congress: Don't censor the Web

Fighting online piracy is important. The most effective way to shut down pirate websites is through targeted legislation that cuts off their funding. There's no need to make American social networks, blogs and search engines censor the Internet or undermine the existing laws that have enabled the Web to thrive, creating millions of U.S. jobs.

Too much is at stake — please vote NO on PIPA and SOPA.
